Traditional Grab Lorry
A traditional grab lorry is larger in size than a mini grab and can remove loads from sites in as little as 20 minutes. The truck has a hydraulic arm with a reach of up to 8 metres and is 9ft wide by 22ft long. A bucket on the end of the arm grabs waste under the guidance of an operator and unloads it onto the grab lorry bed. The size of a traditional grab hire vehicle enables it to reach over fences, hoardings and obstacles for a more efficient waste collection service.
A full-sized lorry can grab up to a ton of waste at full reach. This is an excellent choice for construction work and for major muck away projects.
Mini Grab Lorry
If sites in Chertsey, Sunbury, Walton-on-Thames or the surrounding areas have restrictions in terms of space, a mini grab lorry offers a compact solution and can get into locations a traditional truck might struggle with. Perfect for use on tight streets, or sites with minimal width or no room for manoeuvrability, mini grabs are shorter in height and width, narrower, and have small turning circles. This truck carries a maximum of 9 tonnes of waste at full capacity.
A mini grab lorry has a dividing plate that allows for two distinctive types of waste (such as inert and non-inert) to undergo collection at the same time.
